ADHD coaching for parents

Adult ADHD coaching specifically aimed at parents-

Parenting can be extremely challenging; just when you think you have it figured out, your child grows and new challenges emerge. For parents with raising an ADHD child, this can render previous parenting knowledge seemingly irrelevant. It's essential for these parents to understand their own traits. Learning to parent an child involves various strategies and coping mechanisms that can also benefit neurotypical children, ensuring fair treatment among siblings. However consistently applying these strategies may require adjustments that some parents with ADHD find difficult. Even as you learn about your ADHD child, remember that your own experience with ADHD will be unique.

Coaching for Parents with ADHD

Before enrolling in any parenting classes, take time to understand your ADHD and how to manage its traits to better support your child.

My Adult ADHD coaching program is designed specifically for parents of children with ADHD. Together, we will examine your daily life and the impact of parenting on you. We'll identify your individual challenges and provide evidence-based information about ADHD.

After these ADHD sessions you will be able to-

* Recognize areas where you may struggle with emotional regulation and learn how to manage them.

* Understand your reactions and the brain processes behind them.

* Identify situations that may heighten your overwhelm and anxiety, and how to avoid them.

* Discover tips to prevent emotional spirals before they begin.

* Learn how to care for yourself during your child's emotional outbursts and manage stress to enhance your parenting.

*Discover how environmental factors may affect your ADHD

* Most importantly, gain the confidence to discipline your ADHD child effectively in any situation while maintaining control.

With this foundation, you can adopt any ADHD parenting technique, prioritizing your child's needs while successfully managing your own ADHD.

Coaching for Parents of ADHD children-ADHD or Neurotypical

Parenting a child with ADHD can be extremely challenging, especially if you, as a parent without a diagnosis of ADHD, find their behaviours uncontrollable and your understanding limited.

During these coaching sessions, we will introduce you to ADHD, its effects, and the science behind it. You will learn what is happening in your child's brain that leads to their behaviours and why it is important to consider their reality rather than solely your own when interpreting these behaviours. This understanding will provide you with a foundation of knowledge as we explore and investigate behaviours together. We will also cover the following topics:

*Observations: In this program, you will learn how to identify behaviours before they start. With this skill, you will be better equipped to adapt as your child grows and their behaviours and characteristics change.

*Consistency: Recognizing the importance of consistency in parenting a child with ADHD is crucial. If you are a parent with ADHD, this can be more challenging than for a neurotypical (NT) parent. However, learning the necessary skills and knowledge can motivate you to remain consistent.

*Continuity: You will learn the importance of continuity in discipline. By ensuring that all caregivers in your child's life are following the same approach, you will observe positive changes in your child's behaviour.

*Solutions: You will be introduced to a toolbox of skills and strategies that you can use with your children. You will learn how to apply these tools and when the optimal time is to use them.
